Suffolk County School Districts Amagansett School is dedicated to providing the best and highest quality educational experience for all its children. Our task is twofold; to convince the students to work diligently because there is quality in what they are asked to do and in how they are asked to do it; and to maintain an up-to-date educational and safe environment in which to learn. Amityville School District includes the Village of Amityville and the unincorporated areas of the Town of Babylon and the Town of Oyster Bay. The total population of the District is approximately 20,000. 3,200 pupils attend the public schools of the District including three elementary schools: The Babylon School District is a thriving educational community providing an excellent atmosphere for learning and growth. With a student population of approximately 2,000, the Babylon District provides a small town feeling while striving for excellence. Bay Shore School District sets high expectations for both students and staff. Five elementary schools, a middle school and a high school provide a caring, creative learning environment for the 5,000 students who attend each day. Our mission remains to provide opportunities for all our students to learn, to grow and to achieve their maximum potential. Bayport-Blue Point School District will continue to focus concerns on test scores, identifying where and how to improve results. However, remaining mindful of laws in the State Education Department and Board of Regents systems and look to provide pupils with a sound background in all subject areas in spite of these flaws. Bellport School Board The South Country Board of Education encourages the community to attend their monthly meetings and to freely communicate their support or concerns regarding educational matters either in person or in writing.The Board however, does not accept nor will they consider anonymous letters. While officially known as the Cold Spring Harbor Central School District, the district actually serves a much bigger area than the village for which it is named. Comsewogue School District is located primarily in the Port Jefferson Station and Terryville areas of northern Brookhaven Town, in Suffolk County, New York. Our school district educates approximately 4000 students in four elementary schools, a middle school and a high school. Connetquot School District Known for its exceptional academic attitude, and committment to the arts, the Connetquot Central School District of Islip is comprised of ten schools located within the hamlets of Ronkonkoma, Bohemia and Oakdale, close to the geographic center of Long Island, about 50 miles east of New York City. Copiague Public Schools Located in New York State's Suffolk County, the Copiague Public School District is comprised of a population of approximately 4,540 students attending three elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. The District has been a constant recipient of Moody's highest rating for fiscal responsibility. Deer Park Union Free School District is located in the Town of Babylon, in Suffolk County, New York. Approximately 37,000 residents live in the District, which covers an area of four and one-half square miles. During the 2004-2005 school year, more than 4,500 students are enrolled in Deer Park Schools. More than 750 employees, including approximately 450 teachers, work for the District. Elwood Public School District includes parts of the Huntington Town postal delivery areas of East Northport, Greenlawn, and Huntington. We are on Long Island's north shore, about 40 miles east of New York City. Hampton Bays School District the vision of the Hampton Bays Union Free School District to build a school culture that values academic achievement, promotes character education, encourages community responsibility and facilitates lifelong learning. We will provide safe and caring learning environments and develop programs to encourage intellectual curiosity, celebrate diversity and maximize the individual talents of our children. Islip Public Schools residential community situated on the south shore of Long Island. Single-family dwellings, a shopping district of small retail stores along Main Street, and a few industrial establishments comprise an area of approximately 5.5 square miles. Residents are afforded the opportunity of a convenient commute to New York City via the Islip branch of the Long Island Railroad, and there is close proximity to excellent medical facilities, scenic parks, beaches, and other recreation. Kings Park Central School District is in a suburban New York community nestled on the North Shore of Long Island. Although relatively small in the number of square miles, Kings Park has been the focus of attention throughout the educational community. Lindenhurst Public School District The Lindenhurst School District is dedicated to educating its students to become life-long independent learners and decision makers, who are responsible, well-rounded and thoughtful citizens. Longwood Central School District provides a strong basic academic program for all students. Middle Country Central School District The Middle Country School District is governed by a nine-member Board of Education. Members serve without pay for staggered, three-year terms. Candidates for the Board of Education must be qualified voters of the school district. They are nominated by a petition, signed by at least two percent of the number of voters in the last election. Miller Place Union Free School District When we think of education, we naturally think of academics. Sometimes we view academics as the whole purpose for attending school. While this is true, other elements including music, art, theatre, and sports play integral roles in shaping a child's future. Mount Sinai Union Free School District The Mount Sinai School District has a current population estimated at 11,000 with a student population of 2,200. We are located on the north shore of Long Island, approximately 65 miles east of New York City. The District covers an area of approximately six square miles. North Babylon School District A seven member Board of Education, elected by the people, and serving without salary, is responsible for the schools. Each member serves a term of three years. Elections are held on the third Tuesday in May. Regular public Board meetings are generally held on the third Thursday of each month at 8:00 pm at the Robert Moses Middle School. Northport-East Northport Union Free School District Our school district has 6,218 students in nine buildings; one high school, two middle schools, and six elementary schools. The Northport-East Northport School District has a long, proud tradition of being on the cutting edge. Rocky Point School District The Rocky Point Union Free School District Goals are to improve student achievement, integrate technology into learning and to increase communication. Saint James - Harbor Country Day School - An independent school in St. James for 200 boys and girls, Harbor Country Day emphasizes academic rigor, small classes, personal responsibility and individual attention in a nurturing environment. Smithtown Central School District Smithtown students continue to set new records on Regents results! Of the 632 June graduates of Smithtown High School, more than 90 percent received a Regents Diploma, according to Dr. Charles A. Planz, Superintendent of Schools. In addition, 359 students received an Advanced Regents Diploma, which indicates they successfully passed eight Regents exams. West Islip Public Schools The Board of Education establishes policies and adopts regulations for the conduct of the public schools. They serve without pay for three-year terms. West Sayville Christian School is an interdenominational; independent Christian School dedicated to high academic and spiritual standards. The Westhampton Beach School District is located in the Township of Southampton, Suffolk County, New York and services the villages of Westhampton Beach and Quogue, the hamlets of Westhampton, East Quogue, Quiogue, Remsenburg-Speonk, East Moriches and South Manor. William Floyd School District district is located on the south shore of Long Island, approximately 60 miles east of New York City. We presently have a student population of approximately 11,000. We have five K-5 elementary schools, two 6-8 middle schools and one 9-12 senior high school.
